How will the OrthoTraining “Orthodontic Assistant” Training Bundle of Courses help the orthodontic practice?

The most successful orthodontic practices make maximum use of the doctor’s time by having the doctor delegate other procedures to well-trained employees. The Orthodontic Assistant Bundle of courses trains the chairside orthodontic assistant to perform critical orthodontic procedures at the highest level. For instance, the trained chairside assistant will know how to:

  • Complete a full bonding 7-7 in a two-hour appointment requiring just 20 minutes of doctor time. Brackets will be well-positioned for producing an excellent result. Bracket failure will be less than 2%. There will be no white spot lesions when the brackets are removed. The chairside orthodontic assistant will be able to select the treatment- planned initial wires and properly inserted the wires and fully engage them.
  • At orthodontic adjustment appointments, the chairside assistant will assess the patient’s progress in all aspects of treatment, report this assessment to the doctor when the doctor sits with the patient, and then complete instructions given by the doctor to complete the appointment.
  • Debond a patient after the doctor has given approval to remove the braces. Debonding procedures may include bonding a chain retainer, careful removal of the brackets and bands, precise removal of all bonding adhesive and cement using the best evidenced- based methods that will restore the enamel surfaces to a high shine.
